How does the rebate work?
Get ready to save on your energy bills and embrace sustainable living. The Queensland government's Battery Booster Rebate Scheme is here. This exciting initiative, part of the Queensland Energy and Jobs Plan, aims to lighten the load on your wallet and help you navigate rising cost of living pressures.
To participate, your household must meet some minimum requirements. Full details will be available when the program officially opens. Here are some of the eligibility criteria:
Household Income: A rebate of up to $4,000 is available for households where the highest income earner earned $66,667 or less for the most recently ended financial year. A rebate of up to $3,000 is available for applicants with an income of less than $180,000 for the most recently ended financial year.
Battery Purchase Timing: Only batteries purchased after the program launch on Feb 12 2024 and receive conditional approval are eligible. No retroactive rebates, unfortunately.
Battery Size and Type: Choose a 6 kilowatt hour (kWh) or larger battery from the approved list, available on the program website.
Solar PV System: Your home needs at least a 5kW solar PV system, either existing or newly installed.
Approved Installer: Ensure your battery is installed by an approved professional (us!).
